Introducing Kayoko Hara, Aromatherapist

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils. Essential oils are volatile and aromatic liquids which generally constitute the odorous principles of a plant. They are obtained through a process of extraction or distillation from a single botanical form or species.

Each essential oil has its own characteristics and energy vibration which work in various ways. They help you relax, rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Certain oils give you psychological effects when you inhale them through your nose whereas other oils give you actual physical effects by directly going into your body through massage. By combining a few oils, you will get synergistic effects and the results will be infinite.

Kayoko Hara is a certified aromatherapist. She first got interested in aromatherapy when she was studying flower arrangement in Japan. As much as she loved to work with plants, she started to find herself more fascinated and influenced by the smell of them.

She came to the US to grasp the general knowledge on medicinal herbs. She went to California School of Herbal Studies and completed500-hour study in the Foundation and Therapeutic Herbalism in 1995. During the course, she learned botany, plant identification, Materia Medica, herbal medicine preparations, anatomy and physiology.

She then focused on aromatherapy at Tisserand Institute in London in 1998. She studied the concept of aromatherapy, its usage, effects and massage. She practiced aromatherapy massage on clients both in London and Santa Cruz, California.

Dr. John Asks some important questions of interest to New York residents - Chiropractor New York Dr. John Asks...

Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
Where do most New York residents get their first vertebral subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of vertebral subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every New York newborn.
